If you overeat by only 50 Calories every day, you gain 5 lb / 2.2 kg per year. ( 50 Calories equals: 1 small piece of fruit, 1 tsp fat, ½ glass of wine, 4 oz / 125 ml beer, 6 oz / 150 ml pop, or 5 french fries ).

A weight loss of only 5 – 10 lb / 2 – 4.5 kg will reduce the risk of developing obesity related chronic diseases, such as heart disease, Diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure.

Folic acid, when taken before pregnancy and in the early weeks of pregnancy, helps prevent birth defects of the brain and spinal cord called neural tube defects.
